Maggie was in pain, shifting from side to side and moaned once, so gave her Tremedal at 1:30. A.’s instructions were to wait 30 minutes and give her Rhus Toxicodendron 200 ch (if I was still awake) but Maggie settled within 20 minutes and slept was really quiet for at least the next couple of hours so I didn’t give her the Rhus Tox. She didn’t move until 6:00 a.m. when she started to get restless again so gave her the Rhus Tox then.
Moving a bit better this a.m. on our walk but still using three legs when she first gets up and starts moving. We went for our usual morning leash walk — about 40 minutes. Maggie wanted to go farther but I didn’t want her to over due it.
Wouldn’t eat any breakfast — no turkey, beef, cooked liver or veg. Ate a couple of pieces of dried liver, 12 dried chicken strips and 12 dried duck strips. So had enough to give her, her morning dose of Metacam.
Tried to get her to eat again at 2:45 p.m. but she wouldn’t eat. Tara had a couple of small plates from Maggie’s breakfast.
Maggie is still on 3 legs when she first gets up and then is less stiff as she moves around.
Dose of Rhus Tox at 3:35 p.m. She seems a bit restless now. Has just laid down and gotten up and moved to another spot four times. Think she’s settled outside on the deck.
Ate most of her dinner. Still on three legs when first gets up and then can put more weight on the leg after walking around for awhile.
Had problems having a bowel movement on our evening walk and when she did pass something it was very dark brown/black and pure water.
Tremedal at 9:30 p.m.
